“The arrival of spring can’t be done in one picture” – David Hockney Dear friends, Spring is officially coming for us! The earth’s axis will start to tilt towards the sun, and March 21st will mark the Spring Equinox, where day and night are equal before we move into more light. Although the temperature hasn’t quite changed, the days will start to get longer, and the light will start to shine again through our windows. As Thich Nhat Hanh said so eloquently: “the miracle is not to walk on water, but to walk on this earth”. With Spring, if we can be fully present, we will be able to look closely and notice miracles happening all around us. Plants begin to grow, and flowers bloom, animals awaken from hibernation and babies - not just human babies - are often born in spring. We practise so that we can look closely and not miss the natural world unfolding around us, and so that we can remember that we are also an integral part of it. We are reminded that without the dark, we don’t have the light to look forward to. Without the challenges, we don’t have the ease to look forward to. Without winter we don’t have spring to look forward to. And with spring, we have so much to look forward to at Love Supreme Projects.
