Hi! I am Mia. My parents met at Compton College in California. I grew up by the beach and spent much of my childhood camping and riding horses. My greatest teachers have been animals. Sitting in the presence of the redwoods was where I felt peace. It’s where my journey began and yoga has been the North star to keep guiding me home to Self.

I received a B.A. in psychology from UCLA. I did my greatest work with Mona Miller in somatic healing. I am a certified senior teacher and mentor for Yoga Works in the US and have led many 200-hour Teacher Trainings. I am a 500-hour registered yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance in the US and have been teaching for 20 years. I am an IPEC certified Transformational Life Coach.

What cracks your heart open?  “Vulnerability and being. Floating in the sea. Being true to my weird and wild nature. Alchemizing wounds into wisdom.”

“Mia is a fantastic and knowledgeable teacher with years of experience. Her classes focus on anatomy and alignment, which is important so students can practise safely. She encourages the use of props which helps make her classes accessible and inclusive. Mia always brings in yoga philosophy and gives her students prompts to think and practise yoga beyond the mat.”
- Christie Petrakopoulou

“Mia truly brings heart and soul to her teaching. Each and every one of her classes invites you into a tender and loving exploration of self - body, mind and spirit.” - Tallulah Self

“My favourite Mia saying in class: “If you fall, it’s okay. That’s how we learn, that’s how we grow.” - Leanne Lewis
