An advanced certified Jivamukti Yoga teacher, Luis trained with Sharon Gannon and David Life, the founders of the method in New York and later went on to receive his advanced certification in Munich with Ruth Lauer Manenti. Luis trained as an actor and singer and started practising yoga in 2007 whilst at drama school, as a way to support his movement and dance training. However, it was the effect on the mind that really drew him to the practice. Yoga has supported Luis on so many levels and he feels a responsibility to share it.

Grounded in classical yoga, yet reimagined for the present time, his soulful classes are a flowing and precise vinyasa, with challenging and fun sequencing. Focusing on breath and alignment, classes are open level and may include Sanskrit chanting, hands-on assists, yoga philosophy and always ending with deep relaxation. He is known for his eclectic, specially curated playlists to support rhythm and inspire deep listening. He is a versatile teacher, having worked with complete beginners, experienced practitioners and everyone in-between.

His background in performance (rather than fitness), deeply informs his teaching style. The intention is to hold space for an open, inclusive, supportive and inspirational experience. Be prepared to work hard, go deep and have fun! As well as teaching public classes and workshops, at the major yoga studios across Europe, Luis has also taught at events, festivals and private clients 1-2-1. He also regularly leads global yoga retreats, at a number of destinations including Ibiza and southwest France.

“Luis is totally wonderful. His Jivamukti practise involves beautiful music (traditional and contemporary), stories, chanting, wisdom, humour and passion. Because he’s a trained singer, dancer and actor his posture tweaks are super helpful and done with grace. His teaching is the perfect balance of strong a physical challenge and deeply meditative, always getting to my heart and soul and leaving me clear, light and with a whole new perspective. It’s a total joy just to be in the same room as Luis
