Jack Kornfield is coming to us! I was first introduced to Jack Kornfield over 23 years ago by my friend and fellow teacher, Patrick Broome. Ever since, I've continuously followed his teachings, podcasts, and written work. His latest book, All In This Together, is full of wonderful, profound stories that will make you laugh and cry — the whole Love Supreme Projects team received it as part of our holiday party gift (one of the perks of the job 😉). Reading his book The Wise Heart was a true turning point for me. It offered a different lens through which to understand the Buddhist perspective, and how to integrate its principles into daily practice. I often reflect on and share his story of the Buddha experiencing imposter syndrome — finding out that even the Buddha struggled with self-doubt brings so much comfort! Throughout his teachings, there is a constant thread of kindness, humility, humour, and understanding — the kind that cracks your heart open, because you feel you're hearing the deepest truths. So, nothing gives me more joy than to welcome Jack and Trudy — his wife and a long-time, beloved meditation teacher herself — to Love Supreme Projects. I've waited for the right moment, and thanks to ganavya, here it is. And it's because of all of you, this community, that they want to come and meet us. The cherry on top: Ann Tashi Slater, the gifted author of Traveling in Bardo, is joining us from Tokyo for our Sunday Special that same evening. Ann's book is a beautiful, practical guide to living with change — rooted in Tibetan Buddhist perspectives on impermanence and her own remarkable family history — a modern-day interpretation of the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Jack has read her book and is planning to do something with her — so having them meet in the morning, on the very day of both gatherings, feels like magic. ✨
